JOSH(2018-19)

THE INAUGURAL EVENT

JOSH – The inaugural event of THE ADVENTURE CLUB DDUC commenced on 18th September 2019 under the guidance of the club convenor Dr. Arpita Sharma and Dr. Anil Kumar. The program was headed by President Gaurav Nailwal himself accompanied by the core committee of the adventure club. The event aimed to develop the sportsmanship among students, uniting them from varied courses over one ground and providing healthy competition full of fun, thrill, and adventure. The working team of the club reached the campus at 7 am for all the minor managements.

The event started with a marathon which was held separately for boys and girls. The boys and girls had to accomplish 5 and 3 rounds respectively of college premises. The runners were given chest numbers before the inception. Each of them was informed about the norms. The track had water points and volunteers to avoid discrepancies. 36 boys and 15 girls ran over the tack at their respective turns. The first prize constituted a sum of 1000, the second had 700, followed by 500 for the third. The winners were felicitated with certificates and pre-laid cash prizes by college principal Dr. Hemchand Jain.

The marathon was followed by a tug of war session afterward. It was a knockout tournament sort. Each class had to complete a team of 15 comprising at least 5 girls. Fixtures were allotted a day prior to the event. Thus anyhow 32 teams were there on ground. It was filled with participants, spectators and cheerers. The soil was shaken heavily. This session seemed most enticing as crowd said. On a count of 3 and blow of a whistle, the tug was held firmly by both the teams.

When it came to the final round, thunderclaps and shouts were common to hear. It was BA Prog 1st year and PSCS 3rd year which made it to the finale. Eventually, PSCS cleared its way to a cash prize of 1500 given by hon’ble principal Dr. Hemchand Jain.

The event ended up with the loud cheers and each of the team members relished to the utmost.
